5 Hacks For Glossier Hair

Being big fans of everything that glows, we just had to let you in on a few tips and tricks to achieve healthy, voluminous and shiny hair. Check out five hacks for glossier hair below.

Tip #1 Use a clarifying ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) or a clarifying shampoo to lessen/avoid scalp buildup (remember to follow with conditioner)

A kind of hair detox, a clarifying ACV or clarifying shampoo work to remove excess buildup on your strands that’s left as residue by your hair products, hard water or chemicals in your shower water. A clarifying hair product will deeply cleanse your scalp and strands and in turn give them the right nutrients. Following up with a good, silicone-free conditioner will help to keep your hair soft and restore its shine.

The Clean Rinse ACV by Earthbath is a great pre-conditioner scalp rinse. It’s a raspberry rinsing vinegar that removes limescale deposits on the scalp and hair. This clarifying apple cider vinegar will work to eliminate all factors that have a dulling effect on shine, bringing on stronger and healthier hair.

A super effective clarifying shampoo is the Shower Me With Love Shampoo by Locken. A rich formula that will thoroughly remove build up while gently cleansing your hair without stripping it of its natural oils, this shampoo will leave your hair with a natural overall shine.

Tip #2 Avocado Hair Mask

Avocado works well with just about everything so it’s no surprise that it’s also a great natural detangler. For a boost of moisture and smoother, glossier locks, give one of these 2 bestselling hair masks a try:

Avocado Hair Mask, In Natural

Super Greens Hair Mask, Earthbath

Tip #3 Make sure the brush you’re using fits your hair type

For Curly Hair, try the D3 Original Styler by Denman Brushes. Not only is it a bestseller but it is also the ultimate multi-functional hairbrush for detangling, blow-drying, styling, defining curls and smoothing the hair.

Tip #4 Protect your hair from the heat!

Using products like the Citrus & Argan Leave-in Spray by Earthbath as a pre-styling heat protectant is a great way to avoid damage caused by hot hair tools. Lowering the heat settings on your styling tools is also a great way to protect your hair. Another way to maintain your hair health is to use products that will prevent further damage and repair your split ends, like the Amla Styling Hair Cream by Dabur.

Tip #5 Rice Water DIY

There are many benefits to applying rice water to your hair. Some of these benefits include more substantial, longer and shinier hair. How do you get rice water? You make it yourself! Rice water is the starchy water left over after rice is cooked or left to soak.

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the uncooked rice grains and then drain the water.
  2. Place the clean rice in a bowl and add 1-1 1/2 cups of water. Let it soak for at least an hour (you can let it sit for up to 24 hours but not necessarily if you do not wish to wait that long).
  3. Strain the rice and save the water.

There you have it, DIY rice water.

How to use:

  1. Shampoo and rinse your hair.
  2. Massage the rice water into your hair and scalp and let it sit for at least 20 minutes (or up to an hour).
  3. Rinse your hair.

We recommend doing this 1-2 times a week for best results.
