We can’t explain it, but dimples are a feature that everyone wished they had at some point. For some of us, it’s still something we wish our face rocked when we smiled. Something about dimples is just simply irresistible. Unfortunately for a lot of us, we weren’t born with dimples. Don’t fret, however, as usual, makeup can solve any problem and make any dream a reality. The fake dimples makeup look has been going viral on social media recently, so we’ve decided to give our two cents on the matter and let you know how you can achieve the fake dimples makeup look in three easy steps!
Step 1: Get your products
The best thing about this trend is that it’s not only easy to apply, but it also requires very few products that you’ll need to work with. So if you’re not a certified makeup artist, you’ll still be able to do this look for a night out with your girlfriends, no problem! All you need is a liquid concealer that’s a few shades darker than your skin tone, an eyebrow pencil (or eyeliner) and last but not least, a makeup blending brush.
Step 2: Bring out your inner artist
This step is the real meat of this look, so read carefully! To get the fake dimples, you’ll need to go in with the liquid concealer and draw two rounded micro curves on your cheeks where the dimples would be. We recommend using Bourjois’s Radiance Reveal Concealer. Don’t be alarmed if it looks a bit jarring at first, we’re not done yet. Afterwards, you’ll need to soft contour for that extra realistic look with the eyebrow pencil or eyeliner, like Luna’s Eye Liner in the darkest shade, this will accentuate the dimples and give them a lot more depth. While the eyebrow pencil trick isn’t necessary, it’s still a very helpful tip and an easy little hack to make the look that much better.
Step 3: Blend it all up
Finally, don’t forget to blend. Take your blending brush and go absolutely crazy. If you’re in need of a brush, Beter’s Strippling Brush is a good place to start. This look relies heavily on proper blending, because the more blending the fake dimples are, the harder it is for people who aren’t in the know to figure out if your fresh new dimples are fake or real. Don’t worry, we won’t tell if you don’t!
