Geranium Oil
Geranium oil is commonly used as an element in aromatherapy for its many health benefits. It’s used as a holistic treatment to improve your physical, mental and emotional health. Used by the Ancient Egyptians for promoting beautiful and radiant skin, it is used to treat acne, reduce inflammation, alleviate anxiety and balance hormones. This sweet-smelling oil can also uplift your mood, lessen fatigue and promote emotional wellness. Please note, that essential oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil or a moisturiser before applying them to the skin.
How to use
To reduce wrinkles add 2 drops of essential oil to your face cream and apply twice daily. To enhance your skin mix 5 drops of essential oil with a teaspoon of coconut oil. Rub the mixture onto the problem areas or spots twice a day. You can also add a couple of drops of geranium oil to your favourite face or body wash. To create a hydrating hair conditioner, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and 10 drops of essential oil in a spray bottle. Shake well to blend all the ingredients and spray into hair. Soak for 5 minutes then rinse. To tone, muscles add 5 drops of essential oil with 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil and massage on your skin focusing on areas that are sore or tight. To create a natural deodorant add 5 drops of essential oil to a spray bottle and mix with 5 tablespoons of water. Shake well before each use. To ease menstrual discomfort blend 3 drops of geranium essential oil with 2 drops of carrier oil of your choice such as sweet almond oil and massage onto the abdomen in a clockwise direction. Add 10 drops of geranium oil with 10 drops of lavender essential oil and 2 cups of sea salt and pour into a bathtub under hot running water. Make sure the salt has dissolved completely before soaking. Soak for around 15-30 minutes to stimulate circulation and improve the healing of woads and irritation.
