Peppermint Oil
Peppermint essential oil has been used historically in aromatherapy to address a multitude of health concerns. Not only does peppermint have a re-energising scent, but it can also give your skin, body, and mind a well-needed boost. Peppermint essential oil can be used to relieve muscle and joint pain, provide sinus relief, increase energy, alleviate headaches, improve skin health, reduce dandruff and promote hair growth and provide sunburn relief. Please note, that essential oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil or a moisturiser before applying them to the skin.
How to use
To promote hair growth and reduce dandruff add 2-3 drops to your shampoo or conditioner and rub into the scalp while showering. To improve skin health and complexion, mix the peppermint essential oil with lavender oil at a ration of 1:1 and dilute with your favourite carrier oil. Apply to area of concern and allow to absorb. To support oral health add 1 drop to toothpaste or 1 drop to a glass of water and gargle. To alleviate headaches mix the peppermint essential oil with your favourite carrier oil and rub 2-3 drops on your temples, forehead, and back of the neck. To create your own massage oil, dilute several drops in almond oil or your favourite carrier oil and massage into area of concern to alleviate muscle and joint pain. Add about 5 drops of peppermint oil to a diffuser to release an energizing scent and to uplift and boost your mood. To relieve itchiness mix the peppermint essential oil with coconut oil at a ratio of 1:1 and rub onto the area of concern or add 5-10 drops to a warm water bath.
